SOCIAL SAFETY

Enjoying music and partying for two days: we can’t wait for Rolling Loud Rotterdam!

No matter how much fun partying is, it’s never completely risk-free. Therefore, it is good to know what the risks are, from blisters and dehydration to the use of alcohol and other drugs. Please keep our safety policy in mind. For immediate assistance, contact us via our social media channels or email socialsafety@rollingloudrotterdam.nl.

Spending two days indoors and outdoors at a festival is really nice, especially when the sun is shining. But no one feels like getting a sunstroke or becoming dehydrated. During hot weather, sunscreen is essential and a cap, hat or headscarf can be a lifesaver. Keep in mind that it can cool down quickly during the night and when it has rained. Bring that nice warm winter sweater with you just to be sure. We keep a close eye on the weather and the terrain. If necessary, warnings will be shown on the video screens and/or presenters on stage will give more information. Follow instructions from our employees. Inform your home front via SMS during a special event to minimize the traffic on the mobile network.

We recommend purchasing hearing protection that suits you best, but of course earplugs are also available on our site. Check out our festival map during the festival for places where you can buy earplugs.

At Rolling Loud, we want everyone to be themselves: treat each other with respect. Unsafe situations and unvoluntary sex are more common under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. That is no fun in any situation. Respect each other. Help each other in unsafe or unpleasant situations and provide a safe environment. Correct each other where necessary.

Sexual violence or sexual harassment is not tolerated in any way on Rolling Loud. Please keep our safety policy in mind.

If you are harassed or feel threatened: report this to the organization. You can reach out to all security and first aid employees present on site. They will help you and contact a manager within the organization who can help you further. All security staff have undergone training and know how to act. Female security is also present. There are experts present at the First Aid who can take care of you.

You can also report online. For immediate assistance, contact us via our social media channels or email socialsafety@rollingloudrotterdam.nl.

You can report it to the police whenever someone crosses your boundaries. The organization can assist you with pressing charges if desired.
All reports will be treated confidentially.

The website of the Sexual Assault Centre contains more information about medical and psychological advice and how to press charges.

Drugs are illegal and are prohibited at Rolling Loud Rotterdam. There is a check for hard drugs and soft drugs at the entrance. If you have drugs on you, you can be fined or go to jail, depending on the amount.

Have you used drugs and are you not feeling well? Go to the first aid or ask for help. Please give a description as detailed as possible about what is happening so they can help you. Do not hesitate to call what you have used by its name, no report will be made to the police because medical confidentiality applies here.

We assume that you know the risks of drugs and alcohol, but please take extra care at temperatures above 20 degrees. Alcohol and/or drugs increase your body temperature, so dancing for a long time and drinking too little increases the risk of overheating. Drink enough water – 2 glasses per hour is enough – but not too much at the same time. Water intoxication is just as deadly as overheating due to alcohol and/or drug use.

Still deciding to use drugs?  Have your drugs tested before you leave home, look out for each other during the festival and don’t let each other down. Please keep our safety policy in mind. For immediate assistance, contact us via our social media channels or email socialsafety@rollingloudrotterdam.nl. For more information and the health risks, visit www.drugsenuitgaan.nl.

Unsafe situations and unvoluntary sex are more common under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. That is no fun in any situation. Respect each other. Help each other in unsafe or unpleasant situations and provide a safe environment. Correct each other where necessary.

The effect of alcohol and/or drug use can lead to reduced concentration and a slower reaction time, this is dangerous for yourself and other road users. Stop in time and adjust your transport to your use. Keep in mind that it can take hours before it is save to drive again.

We advise to travel by public transport. Rotterdam Ahoy is easily accessible by public transport.
